Beetroot Juice vs Beet juice

Are beetroot juice and beet juice the same thing? It seems that the two terms are used interchangeably on various websites but I assume they are the exact same thing and there is no difference between the two.....could you please confirm this?

Beetroot Juice and Beet Juice
by: Amanda

Beetroot juice and Beet Juice are two names for exactly the same thing.

In the U.K. the ruby red root vegetable is known as a "beetroot" and it's juice is known as "beetroot juice".

While in other parts of the world (such as the U.S.A.) they are commonly called "beets" and their juice "beet juice".

Juice from a can of beets cheaper than beet root juice
by: Anonymous

At the health food store the beet root juice is $7 for 16 ounces. Wouldn't it be cheaper to open a can of beets and drink the juice?

Canned Beets vs Beet Juice (Canned Beetroot vs Beetroot Juice)
by: Amanda

Canned beets are cooked beets usually in water with a bit of sugar added. Link to a can of beets with ingredients. The water they come in does look like beet juice as the beetroot 'bleeds' into the water turning it red, but is a far cry from actual beet juice which contains most of the nutrients from the whole beet extracted into juice form.

With canned beets you need to eat the beets themselves to get the benefits.

You make fresh beetroot juice from raw beets.
