alfalfa sprouts

I've been successfully growing alfalfa sprouts and using them stored in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks. Then I read from a nutritionist that the length of time should be no more than a few days. Can you comment on this? Thanks!

How long can you store alfalfa in the fridge?
by: Amanda

I always eat mine within a day or two while they are still really fresh. I'm not sure how long they can safely be stored for, but the fresher the better.

How I'm wondering: (1) How long it's safe to store alfalfa sprouts, and (2) When do they start to lose their high nutritional value?

With home grown sprouts you use common sense to tell you if they're still ok to eat. ie smell fine and not at all slimy.

I should think the nutritionalist was referring to them being more nutritious the fresher they are.
