Growing Wheatgrass bad smell...

by Tony

I've just started growing wheatgrass and will be harvesting my first crop soon. I change the water every day but it's now day seven and it is smelling bad, is this usually what happens...?

Bad Smelling Wheatgrass
by: Amanda

No, it shouldn't smell bad. It sounds like you may be over watering. Are you growing the wheatgrass in soil or sprouting wheat in a jar?

When I grow wheatgrass for juicing I always grow it on top of damp compost and cover it with a tray for the first 5 days. This means I don't usually need to water it until I take the tray off on day 5. I then use the weight of the tray of grass to determine if I need to water.
